Experience Granville Hotel
Granville Hotel is one of Ireland's oldest hotels, dating back to the early 1700s, overlooking the River Suir in the heart of Waterford City, Ireland's Ancient East. This historic boutique hotel was the birthplace of Thomas Francis Meagher, who first flew the Irish Tricolour in 1848 before becoming a Brigadier General in the American Civil War. Charles Bianconi established Ireland's first public transport system from the hotel in the 1830s, earning him the title "King of Irish Roads." Restored to former grandeur by the Cusack family since 1979, the hotel combines elegant stained glass, rich tapestries, and wood panelling with modern comfort. The award-winning Bianconi Restaurant showcases local Irish produce, while the Thomas Francis Meagher Bar offers warm hospitality. Located in Waterford's vibrant shopping district near the Viking Triangle and Waterford Greenway, the Granville delivers authentic Irish history and gracious hospitality.
